Mornings are so calm in the quiet wild of my little backyard. These are some photos I took this morning to capture the beauty of the glorious start of a new day.

This cute Wren visits the backyard every morning. I can hear his sweet song before I even go outside. He is a gregarious singer and hops about on top of the fence in utter joy. He doesn’t stay still very much of the time, so I have a hard time getting a good photo of him. Nevertheless, he is a frequent visitor to the backyard, and his “Cheeburger-Cheeburger” song is very recognizable. Occasionally, he visits the flower pots on the back porch. This morning, he startled me as I was going back into the house from filling the bird feeders. He had found his way into the big Fiddle leaf fig plant! He hung around a while after I went inside, then flew back into a flower bed. So cute!

I have been working on taking more close up photos of the flowers in the backyard. Below are some of the shots I got this morning.

The Rose of Sharon Hibiscus is lovely and full of blooms right now. It was quiet for a few weeks with just a few blooms. But this week, it has put on a show, and the birds and bees are loving it!
The Passiflora has graced us with absolutely gorgeous blooms this past week. I went for a close-up of the intricacies of the inner flower. The stamens and style are so prominent on this flower and make such an interesting photo.

Purslane bring a sense of joy to the morning in the quiet wild of my little sanctuary. The bright yellow and pinks just make me smile. I love the way the stems creep along the perimeter of the flower bed and create a natural barrier at the edge of the flower bed.

These flowers brought me joy this morning as I went about the business of filling bird feeders and washing out bird baths. The stunning colors and shades produced by these lovely plants to attract pollinators never cease to amaze me. I watch the hummingbirds, butterflies, and bees flit from bloom to bloom and am constantly amazed at the creations on our Earth. What a masterpiece of diversity and beauty, if we just take the time to slow down and notice it! I encourage anyone reading this to slow down, take a moment, and recognize the beauty where you are. And remember, beauty lies in the eye of the beholder! Until next time…
